Second FREE Angular JS training session @ ‘mini’ Dev Bootstrap!

By popular demand, DevBootsrap is running the hugely popular Angular JS training session for a second time this Saturday 25th October at Development Innovations from10am – 12pm. The session is open and FREE for all to join – no experience of Angular JS required! You might benefit by already having tried out JavaScript but its not essential. In this course we will be introduced to the concepts of Angular JS such as: Two-way data binding Modules and ng-app Directives and templates Scopes Controllers Services Dependency Injection Just as in the last course, at the end of the 2 hour session you will have built a basic Angular JS application! Free Rails 4 training session @ ‘mini’ Dev Bootstrap!

We here at Dev Bootstrap are pleased to announce a FREE Rails 4 training session that will take place on Saturday 18th October at Development Innovations from 10am – 12pm. The session is open and FREE for all to join – no experience of Ruby or Rails required! You might benefit by already having tried out Ruby but its not essential. In this course we will be introduced to the concepts of Rails such as: MVC Scaffolds Database migrations Helpers Forms Routes Configuration The above list does look like a lot of stuff, but don’t worry, we won’t go too deeply into each subject. It’s more like by the end of this session you will have been exposed and experimented with all the above concepts. At the end of the 2 hour session you will have built a basic Rails application! The session is open and FREE for all to join – no experience of Angular JS required! You might benefit by already having tried out JavaScript but its not essential. In this course we will be introduced to the concepts of Angular JS such as: Two-way data binding Modules and ng-app Directives and templates Scopes Controllers Services Dependency Injection OK, OK we know! The above list does look like a lot of stuff, but don’t worry, we won’t go too deeply into each subject. It’s more like by the end of this session you will have been exposed and experimented with all the above concepts. At the end of the 2 hour session you will have built a basic Angular JS application! By the way, we’ll use CoffeeScript during this course too! If you want to brush up on CoffeeScript before you take the course then I recommend this Code School course. Dev Bootstrap to officially launch at DI’s ‘Innovations in Technology’ expo!

Dev Bootstrap founder, Darren Jensen, will be officially launching Dev Bootstrap to the public at the huge Technology Expo event held at Development Innovations building in Toul Tom Pong district of Phnom Penh this Monday! Its expected that some of the Dev Bootstrap coaches will also be hanging around at the event too. If Dev Bootstrap interests you then why not drop by and we can have a chat! Mozilla confirmed to be part of Dev Bootstrap!

I am excited and pleased to announce that Mozilla will be holding a one day session in Dev Tools for the Firefox browser during the first Dev Boostrap event! Dev Tools provide a developer invaluable insight into the internal rendering engine of the browser. Developers can inspect the dom, css and javascript as well as change anything and see real-time updates in the page. What does ‘bootstrap’ mean?

Sometimes people ask me about the term ‘bootstrap’. In this post, I’ll breifly explain it. “Bootstrap” or “Bootstrapping” means to startup something with a limited amount of resources. Its usually used in the Startup world for starting up a new business with a small amount of money. Bootstrapping a startup might also be termed a ‘lean’ startup – whereby the startup is built piece by piece until it fits the market and is ready for full launch. Of course, sometimes the startup does not ever go beyond a basic idea and landing page – but at least the idea was tried out and not too much was lost! Anyway, so this is why we sometimes use the phrase “Startup your developer career” at Dev Bootstrap!...

Inaugural Dev Bootstrap set for January 2015!

Great news today! The inaugural Dev Bootstrap is set for January 2015 and will run for 3 months. Development Innovations have kindly donated the use of their office space to conduct the first event! If you want to attend the first Dev Bootstrap in Cambodia then please head over to our application form (link at top right of page) and fill it out now! Remember that if you are a student the process is always for Dev Bootstrap to try and find you a sponsor to cover the $1500 fees AND put you straight into work right after. Sounds good right, so get applying!...
